.. LITTER RULES ..
All of the rules below are to prevent the abuse of litter creation, and stop the horrors of overpopulation. Bear with us.
1. You need to have a total of three (3) threads with the cat whom the litter is with, and they all need to have at least three (3) posts from each person involved. 2. For the purpose of flings, there will be a store item in shop to reduce the thread total down to one (1) thread. But you could still do flings with three threads! Have the cats meet twice in a casual way, such as on a patrol or with other cats, and the last thread can be more "romantic."
3. (NEW!) If you would like an all stillborn litter rolled without appearances, you only need to have one thread between the parents. You may also use this if you would like a miscarried litter. We will roll the number of kittens for you. You cannot mention any appearances or sexes for the kits. Alternatively, you can roll a normal litter with the normal amount of threads and choose to make all the kittens stillborn. This means that you will have appearances for the stillborn kittens, and if you get a defect or other appearance aspect you would really like, you can make them alive and roleplayable.
4. (NEW!) Stillborns must either be born dead or die within 24 in-character hours of their birth. Parents may choose to make any of the rolled living kits stillborn if they wish, but they cannot make rolled stillborn kits alive (without the item) or remove any kittens from the litter.
5. If it is not your first litter, you will need to have at least one (1) thread with your parent and all the the kits in your previous litter before you can start making a new one (exceptions are made if one of the kit's roleplayers goes inactive.)
6. After your litter is created, you need to wait until after the kits are apprenticed before you can request new litter. If you're making a litter with the same pair of cats, you will need three new threads between the couple before you can request a litter (if your litter is going to be parented by a different partner, this applies as normal)
6½. If the player of one of your kits goes inactive and you would like to make a new litter, ask the admin(s) for approval and then tag them in your litter request to confirm that you've gotten their permission.
7. Parents get first pick in litters. Parents may only pick one kit each from their litter. Once parents have picked, please ask the roller if they would like a kitten out of courtesy.
8. Other than what is listed in rule 7, kits may only be claimed in the adoption thread. You cannot claim kits in the chat, discord, via pm, or otherwise. Please refrain from mentioning which kit you would like to have anywhere, as it can discourage others from taking a kit or change the parent's opinion on which kit they will take. If the parents want to discuss which kitten they will each take, please do it in a pm.
9. There will be a maximum of 5 kits in each litter, with the average being 3-4. Though cats can very much well have larger litters in real life, this is to prevent having to ban kittens in a clan due to people creating a lot of larger litters. Having smaller litters may also be a way these cats have adapted to the harsh environments they live in. In the Warriors book series as well, the litters are rarely if ever larger than 4 kittens.
10. You must wait for a minimum of 2 weeks after the adoption thread is posted for the kittens to be born. The mother of the litter must be roleplayed pregnant in at least 1 thread during this time. You may create a birth thread for the kits to be born, or just tell the adopters of the kittens that they are now born after the wait time is up. Birth may be postponed for up to another week after the two week deadline if the mother has not been roleplayed pregnant. If it reaches past the 3 week point and you are a roleplayer of one of the kittens, you may contact the admins for permission in a pm including any other members who have kits in the same litter (so they know that their kits are born now too.)
11. Parents may not name the kits for the adopters. However they may include a theme or a list of names that should be followed by the adopter. If an adopter wants to use a name that is not on the list or in the theme, they should provide a reason (ie. Flykit is not on the parent's names list, but the kit could be named Fly- for the color of their fur or their size.) and if they are asked to pick a different name by the parents they must. Parents: please do not abuse this power and veto names for little to no reason.
12. You may only use the colors and descriptions listed in the litter roll for the application of the kitten. We will accept synonyms listed in the following:
- red = ginger = orange
- blue = gray/grey
- brown tabby = black tabby
- seal point = black point (same with seal mink = black mink)
- flame point = red point
- calico = tortoiseshell with white
- curly fur = rexed fur
- heterochromia = odd eyes
- lilac = lavender
- classic tabby = blotched tabby
- dilute tortoiseshell = muted tortoiseshell
- medium furred = semi-long furred (or semi-long haired)
- silver = smoke (in solids) = cameo (in reds and creams)
- ruddy (in somalis/abyssinians) = black
