Full Trait Description: Burnetroot is a very grounding cat. She has a calm and nurturing disposition to her, a great listener to anyone's problem. Quite sociable, Burnetroot values her friends and hopes to be someone to rely on. She prides herself on not letting too many things get to her and thus has never really had too many problems with other cats, save for those that attack her family.
Burnetroot tends to think a few steps ahead of where she is now and this helps her let problems roll off of her. While things might hurt in the moment the future is still there and bright and that's what matters. Because of this, she might come off a bit tactless with her advice, especially with cats who do not hold her same views or who hold on to grudges.
While her personality is good for keeping the peace it's not always the best for Burnetroot. She has a tendency to swallow down her own issues or brush them off in favor of focusing on others, especially her family. So when something really does upset her she often won't voice her concerns unless it gets out of hand.

The Past
Burentroot was born to your average Oak family couple late leaf-fall, along with her two siblings, Bluekit and Beechkit. Burnetkit was bright and excitable, often the leader in games between her siblings and other kits in the nursery. She grew especially close with Myrtlekit, the two of them thicker than thieves as they snuck out of the nursery to explore and play, often talking of what their lives would be like when they were finally old enough.
However, that leaf-bare was especially rough, sickness ran rampant through the clan. No one was truly safe, and that unfortunately included the kits. Beechkit didn't make it to see the first thaw of newleaf. This devastated Burenetkit and she swore to protect Bluekit, she didn't want to lose him too. Her bond with Myrtlekit only grew that newleaf as they shared similar trauma and she vowed to protect Myrtlekit and be there for her, no matter what. She didn't want to see the other kit so sad ever again.
Soon enough she became an apprentice, Myrtlepaw following right behind her as always. She trained hard to become a warrior, becoming a rock in the clan, and solidified herself as a protective force, especially when it came to Bluepaw. Burnetpaw only grew closer with Myrtlepaw during this time, sparring with her and supporting her through their apprenticeship. With her sights set forward it only made sense her apprenticeship sped by so fast. Her stability did not go unnoticed in the clan and she was given the name Burnetroot to reflect this. She decided to remain in the Oak family, her decision solidified when Myrtleheart joined her. Even after all these moons they were still close.
Burnetroot could only feel pride as Myrtleheart gained standing in the clan. While she was never one for the limelight she thought Myrtleheart absolutely deserved the praise and recognition she received. It surprised no one when she was one of the first cats to cast her vote for Myrtleheart to become the new leader after their previous one passed away.
Their mateship also came as no surprise. Burnetroot had held affections for her oldest friend for many moons but felt like the pair of them weren't quite ready to take the plunge. Myrtleleaf becoming leader was a sign from the Goddess herself and Burnetroot confessed to her and was overjoyed when her love was returned. Things seemed to be looking up for her and her new mate. Even more so when they decided to have kits. Burnetroot had always wanted a family and now was the perfect time.
The pregnancy was not perfect. Burnetroot saw the toll her mate took as she carried their kits and often wondered if she should have been the one to carry them. No matter, she did everything she could to be there for Myrtleleaf, wanting to ease her burden as much as possible. The scariest moment of Burnetroot's life was when Myrtleleaf went into labor. She stayed with her through it all, watching her lose one of her lives in the process. It broke her heart.
It completely destroyed Burnetroot to watch her kits pass, one by one. Silent tears wetted the ground beneath her as she knew there was nothing to be done. Myrtleleaf was devastated when she woke up and the two of them mourned together. Burnetroot became a rock, solid and strong, because she knew that's what Myrtleleaf needed right now.
After losing their kits Burnetroot agreed to not try again, not for a while anyway. She watched Myrtleleaf struggle with their loss and did everything she could to try and ease her burden. She thought about her kits every day, mourned them for many moons, but she knew that she wanted to try again. Life was too short to not at least try again. She couldn't even think about bringing this up to her mate so she hasn't. Her worry over Myrtleleaf grew as the moons went on, especially when she lost her second life. Burnetroot understood that was the life of a leader but it didn't mean she had to like it.
