.. LITTER DEFECTS DICTIONARY ..
Welcome welcome! We have a lot of defects able to be rolled in our litter systems and thought- why not create a list to help people remember? This thread will include the name of the defect, a short description, and how many characters on site have the defect. The thing is, there still needs to be some kind of mystery around what defects we have. So defects will be unlocked here as they are rolled in the system. Defects will be listed in alphabetical order. We will include some of the better known defects starting off- be sure to check for updates!

description of defect
Number of Cats on site with this Defect: number.
Blindness: added at thread start.
A defect that causes the affected to be born without any sight abilities. When their eyes open, they will have cataracts that cloud the eyes, making them a milky blue color (example) or their pupils will be perpetually dilated very wide (example). The adopter of the kitten will be able to decide the eyes appearance, as long as they list the rolled eye color in the cat's application for any future litter rolls. They will rely on other senses such as smell and hearing to hunt and perform their duties.
The skill "eyesight" must be placed in the weaknesses section, and when rolling for an action affecting eyesight the character's roll must be replaced with a "1" no matter what.
Number of Cats on site with this Defect: none.
Deafness: added at thread start.
A defect that causes the affected to be born without any hearing abilities. When their ears open, they will not respond to any verbal or sound stimulus that the normal kitten would. They will not appear visually any different from a hearing cat. They will rely on other senses such as eyesight and smell to hunt and perform their duties. Cats with this defect will be unable to speak more than a few words, and if they do learn to talk their speech will likely be hard to understand by the listeners. They will most likely have to communicate through body language or other means. Solid white cats with blue eyes, especially longhairs, will be affected by this defect the most.
The skill "hearing" must be placed in the weaknesses section, and when rolling for an action affecting hearing the character's roll must be replaced with a "1" no matter what.

Infertile Tortoiseshell Tom: added at thread start.
This includes calico toms as well. A rare syndrome that causes the cat to have an extra X chromosome (making them XXY; known as Klinefelter Syndrome) renders them infertile but allows for them to have a tortoiseshell coat. For more explanation on the exact reason of why another X chromosome can make them tortie see: "why can't I make a male tortoiseshell or calico" in our FAQ's. Characters with this defect will be unable to reproduce by any means; though they likely will not know this starting out due to the rarity of tortoiseshell males. They do not typically have any other health problems aside from infertility.
