The Past
I'm lonely but no one can tell
I'm lonely but no one can tell
Falconkit was born one new-leaf morning, alongside his sister Hawkkit and brother Sparrowkit, to their mother Hail- and father Lion-. They were all sizable kits except for tiny little Sparrowkit, who Frost- immediately deemed would be too weak, which inspired the "weak" name she gave him. The best way to describe Falconkit's mother and father would be business partners. They were two large and strong cats, both born and raised in the Oak Family, who came together to contribute their part in giving the Oak Family a new generation of warriors. Falconkit never saw them exchange a word of warm affection, or a caress. In fact, Lion- was fairly absent from the three kits' lives, always busy training or sparring or involved in Oak affairs. Hail- instead raised all three of her kits, spending most of her attention on Falconkit and Hawkkit while only doing enough for Sparrowkit to keep him from getting into trouble.
Falconkit and Hawkkit did not share the same opinion that Hail- had. They loved Sparrowkit very much, and looked out for him, protecting him from any teasing from other Oak Family kits. The three siblings were very close as they grew; while Sparrowkit did not grow much, Falconkit and Hawkkit quickly became some of the largest kits in GlenClan. The three became apprentices together, and it was at this time that Sparrowkit began to express a wish to be part of the Willow Family. Falconkit and Hawkkit were hurt that their brother planned to leave the Oak Family, but understood that he would feel more at home in a Family that fit him better. It was around this time that Falconpaw began to notice toms. It was also around this time that he realized his mother was expecting him to notice she-cats instead. Hail- wanted strong kits, with a strong she-cat like she had been in her younger years. If Falconpaw preferred toms, it would be a waste of his excellent attributes, and it would mean Oak Family would lose potential strong cats.
Hawkpaw, it seemed, ran into the same problem. She confessed to Falconpaw and Sparrowpaw that she liked her best friend, who was a she-cat. Falconpaw was shocked. He wanted desperately to be as brave as Hawkpaw and admit his own liking for toms, but couldn't force the words out in fear that his mother would somehow find out. Sparrowpaw, already experiencing a disconnect from his mother and not having spoken to her in moons, did not share these qualms, and hadn't hesitated in expressing that he was also very interested in toms. It seemed that Hail- was in for some big disappointment, once she found out her three kits were not going to be following her plans.
Falconpaw kept his sexuality to himself, while Hawkpaw and Sparrowpaw wasted no time in confessing to Hail-. There was a huge fight, and Hawkpaw earned the same treatment that Sparrowpaw had received his whole life. Falconpaw chose to stay out of it, not wanting to attract his mother's suspicion. Two moons passed, and the apprentices grew into fine warriors. As soon as they were able to, Sparrow- switched to the Willow Family, while Hawk- left to join the Pine Family. Falconblaze was on his own to bear his mother's fury and expectations, now more than ever before. He struggles day to day with trying his best to obey his mother's wishes, although they usually leave him unsatisfied and disappointed, which has made his once-content personality switch to a much more serious and bitter one. Falconblaze can only dream of one day standing up to his mother. For now, he remains unhappy and obedient.
