Acaciapaw padded cautiously between the scrubby bushes that surrounded her. They were mostly brown now, lacking all leaves. The few that weren't scorched by the sun were a dull grey-green or yellow color. Well, everything now was shades of grey. But she knew from earlier today the color of everything. She had been out here since before sunset, and it was now far into the night. The calico was careful to move in circles, and keep track of where camp was. If she ventured too far out, it would be hard to get back. Scent trails were tough to follow, however much she trusted her nose. She could have sworn that she heard some sound of scuffling, some preylike creature was near. So she was creeping around as quietly as she could. After what felt like ages longer but was likely just a few more moments of searching, the smell of mouse hit her nose like a chilling wind. Oh yes. This is something I can catch. She had to admit, she had ran into a snake earlier and had steered clear. She wasn't skilled enough not to be bitten... however hungry she was, she'd rather be hungry than dead. So something that was less deadly was very nice. I just have to sneak... very quietly. Acaciapaw got low to the ground, her body quivering ever so slightly at how tense her muscles were. It wasn't enough to stir the bushes at her sides, however, and she moved forwards without much trouble. She leapt forwards in a flash, and the mouse's squeak was quickly silenced by a bite. The young cat sat back on her haunches and stared at the creature for a moment. It had big rabbitlike ears, abnormally long hind legs, and huge dark eyes that shone even in death. And it was dead! Ready to be eaten. I can't believe it! I caught something, after all this time wandering. Despite the chilliness of the night, her body was warmed by her success and movement. She knew better than to celebrate much longer or do much more than smile at herself. There was more prey to catch, and it wasn't going to wait. As the thrill faded off and she caught her breath, she realized how tired she was. Her bones even felt tired. I think I'll just... head back to camp. I can share the mouse with someone. Little does Acaciapaw know, there is someone else lurking in the bushes nearby. And they aren't as happy as her that she had made a successful catch. Tags: jinxy Notes: here we go!! for lime n caci |

Limelight hid behind some shrubbery the moment he had caught wind of prey. From sound and smell it seemed to just be behind the shrubs, and easy kill. It was almost too easy, but he'd take it. His siblings needed to eat, and of course the clan, but Cherry and Honey always came first. He crept closer, just about to spring but stopped at the sound of the creature letting out a loud pitched squeak and then silence. 'What?' Lime poked his head over the shrub and saw to his dismay a cat carrying his kill- a CURSED of all things. Anger boiled up inside the tom like a flame, and he quickly pounced out of the bushes, making his presence known. "Hey! Who the hell do you think you are?" He snarled, stomping over to the young molly and staring her down, his eyes narrowed to slits. His claws sinking deep in the golden sand. "Do you know who I am? Are you goddamn blind?" He shrieked, stomping closer, pushing her down more. "I'm a Daywalker- and you are a cursed! So what the hell gives you a right to steal MY KILL" he snarled. "You better speak up now, or things will get ugly" he hissed. Tags: Owl, Notes: wow what a dick

Acaciapaw let out a squeak similar to the mouse's when a cat hurtled out of the bushes, fur fluffed out like one of the shrubs surrounding them. He was huge and spitting mad, she immediately leapt to her paws and took a few steps back. "Do you know who I am? Are you goddamn blind?" She had to force herself not to shake all over, but she wasn't doing a very good job. Her ears were flat back on her head and her eyes were wide as the sun in the sky, her body was so low to the ground that she was basically in a crouch. She knew how to look submissive, but most of that was instinct and not experience. True fear fueled her. She knew what a cat might do to a Cursed if they were alone. No one would question it if she went missing, or showed up hurt to camp. Except for the other Cursed, and they would help, but the 'walkers would turn a blind eye to very obvious cat claw marks. And she had just stolen this cat's catch, he had a perfect reason to be angry with her. By the time the tom was done yelling he was breathing heavily and almost foaming at the mouth, he looked at her expectantly and she knew she had to answer to try and calm things down. She spoke rapidly, gasping for breath in between sentences. "I'm so s-sorry sir! I don't have any r-r-right, you're r-right. I didn't see you. I never would have caught the m-mouse if I had known! You can have it, it s-should have been yours! I don't n-need it." Her voice broke at the end. That was a lie. She did need it, more than he did. The fragility of Acaciapaw became even more apparent after she said this. Her legs were barely thicker around than the bone and the fur, and her ribs and hips stuck out like rocky outcrops. Though he was slender, there was a healthiness to the shine his coat and the shape of his body that Acaciapaw lacked. She definitely needed the mouse more than he did. But what was she to do? If she turned and ran, he would surely catch her. And it was her job. She had sinned. They hadn't. It wasn't a question of need. it was a question of who deserved it. And thanks to the previous owners of her soul... Acaciapaw didn't. Lime felt satisfied seeing the kit shake, good, she knew her place. Lime didn't move away though, his tail still lashed like an angry snake, and his eyes glistened with malice and hatred. What the hell was she thinking, stealing HIS prey. "I'm so s-sorry sir! I don't have any r-r-right, you're r-right. I didn't see you. I never would have caught the m-mouse if I had known! You can have it, it s-should have been yours! I don't n-need it." Lime eyes narrowed as he looked over at the mouse and snarled again. "I don't need your mouse- I don't need your pity" He spat, kicking the mouse over to the she-cat. It was a scraggly old thing anyway, it wouldn't do Honeybee any good. "You probably infected it anyway" he hissed. Suddenly he got a great idea, a perfect way to teach this she-cat a lesson. "I can't let you go unpunished" he growled, unsheathing his claws and letting them sink into the warm sand. "You need to know- to remember your place and I'll make sure you do" he snarled, and before the two cats could blink Limelight scratched the molly on the bridge of her nose, deep enough to scar. Limelight took a step back, examined his claws that now shone with the mollys blood. He felt satisfied, a perfect punishment. "Now take your mouse and scurry, before I do something much worse." Limelight meowed, turning away to stalk back to camp. Tags: Owl, FenNote: Give it up to Limelight! Who literally hit a child bc she didn't know he was hiding a bush *yeets him*
