Myrtleleaf was more and more tired these days. Not just physically and mentally tired, emotionally tired. She needed to sleep, but she also needed to think and do everything else associated with leading the clan through a struggle. She was planning patrols to head out and face the unknown outside their territory's borders soon, but she was worried as to what they would find. What if they found nothing? Or worse, what if cats got hurt? And they wouldn't have the herbs they needed to treat them. She knew she wasn't anywhere near the Sacred Hollow nor the willows, but she still sent up a quiet prayer. If anyone is listening, please hear me. Know that if this is my fault, please punish me and only me. Not my clan. They do not deserve this. She sighed and opened her eyes. She was sitting in the shadow of a rather impressive tree, but one that had fallen moons ago. Longer ago than she thought it was, she remembered the day it fell like it was yesterday. Even the strong trees of our forest fall to the elements sometimes. It's not always up to you to decide whether to let yourself fall, knowing that someone may be crushed underneath you... She did not blame the tree, how could she? It could not control the moment of it's demise, nor know that there was an apprentice under it as it sped towards the ground. It did not know that along with it's life, someone else's would be taken too. Sometimes, that was just the way things had to be, however much you wished it not to be true. The molly came here to have a few moments alone, as many cats knew of this place but most gave it a wide berth. They didn't like the tree because it took one of the lives of their leader. She decided that she understood the tree, but she also understood the mindsets of her clanmates. She could neither criticize nor agree with either of them. She still believed the tree deserved some company from time to time, and as it did not have a tongue she found it perfect company for thinking. It merely lay there, offering any support it had left to her. And boy, did she need support. I just hope that Mintheart and the rest of the family leaders and I can lead the clan through this hard time. The Goddess knows it is not over yet. We are nowhere near out of the woods... and I know we likely won't be until this time next year. But I hope we can soften the blow, when it does fall. A whisper in the bushes made her re-open her eyes and look about. She saw no one, but she could sense the presence of someone. The van torbie breathed in, letting the smells of charred wood and plant life mix before picking out any scents of warmblooded creatures. To her surprise, she smelled someone she would recognize anywhere. Who's own scent drenched this clearing all those moons ago. "Icemask? Are you there? Need not be afraid, dear. Come and sit by me." She meowed softly, gently tapping the earth beside her with her tail. I wonder why he is here. I have never met him here before... but we both have a past with this same tree.Tags: Aria, Fen (for mention) Notes: <33 |

Icemask - Glenclan - Warrior - Oak Family - Application Icemask need to take a break from dealing with all his clan-mates. They were to chatty as of recently. He made him feeling unconformable. He loves his clan dearly and his goddess but he just... I'm not normal. He didn't understand positive feelings very much even after spending a few moons look and learning. They still didn't click very well. Was he wrong to be so cold? That inner turmoil plagued him till this day but at least he generally care for one cat. His mentor Myrtleleaf. No matter how much a leader she was to the clan. To Icemask she was his mother and only person he could connect that didn't make his feelings felt...fake. Part of him wishes that she was his real mother maybe if things were different he could have been happy normal warrior instead of being so odd. Then their was one of his little friends as his side too. A small superb fairywren sat on the tom's head like it was nothing new. He loves birds and need someone to talk and share his secrets even if the little bird could never understand or talk about him it just...maybe his feel at home. The Bengal sighed as wind seem pick up and blow every which away to Sunday. "You think we should follow it,little one." Icemask mewled in typical monotone voice as the small bird just sat nuzzle into his fur for warmth. "Alright then but if you poop of on me it's on." A very faint representation of a smile appear but disappear and he continued on his way to see wherever the wind takes him. The wind lead into the stump which he almost lost his in life if wasn't for her. He didn't move for moment recalling the event that made him changed his outlook on life even just slightest. Speaking of that she-cat she seemed to be meditating on the stump and notice him before he turn him away. "Hi,Myrtleleaf." Icemask replied trying at give her a smile but it look more like a frown. "How are you doing? Is something wrong-er don't mind my little friend okay? She would cause any problems."Tags:Owl , Notes: Here is the broken boy! |

Myrtleleaf's face broke out into a weary smile as her lovely old apprentice emerged from the bushes. She was right. My nose is as sharp as it always has been. It's never lead me astray. She almost let out a laugh as she saw the little blue colored bird perched atop the bengal's head. "Well aren't you two a sight for sore eyes." She purred, admiring the bird as the pair got a little closer. It was almost too pretty to eat, and despite being around two superb predators it seemed completely at ease. "You always had a way with the birds, Icemask. I remember when you made me let one I had caught go, back when you were a new apprentice. When I see those birds I still think of you." She let out a little sigh, reminiscing. It had been moons and moons ago, she was still working on getting Icemask, Icepaw at the time, to come out of his shell. Icepaw had been quite a challenge, but after he softened up he was quite a delight. She had been so proud of him the day she made him a warrior. But back to the story. She had taken him out bright and early one morning, hoping to teach him how to catch some of the birds that flew and bred inside the forest. The birds were most active in the morning, and she caught one fairly easily as it foraged for nest material or food. She hadn't killed it, hoping that Icepaw might get a better look at how to kill one properly. Birds were such delicate creatures- you had to be careful with them lest you ruin the meat. But to her surprise, the solemn apprentice had asked her quite desperately for her to let it go. She had never seen such emotion in him before. She had quickly let the animal go, surprised. It had flown off with a final twitter of alarm, no worse for wear. Likely has a good story to tell its grandchicks. It escaped the clutches of the mighty cat! She had asked Icepaw why he wanted to let the bird go. She wasn't mad, just curious. It was greenleaf, prey was plentiful so it wasn't like they would starve without that one bird. He had told her why, and they had gotten closer because of it. That was the first step of many, many that took Icemask to become more comfortable with her. It was a shame he wasn't as friendly with everyone else as he was with her, but every cat had their limits and she wasn't one to push. It took her a few moments of silence to realize that the pale spotted cat had asked her a question. "Oh- sorry dear. I've been thinking, you know." She trailed off, turning her head back to look at Icemask. He was scowling at her- no- was that a smile? Well, a poor attempt at one but an attempt nonetheless. She beamed back at him. "You should smile more often, Icemask. You have quite nice teeth, I'm sure the whole clan would like to see them..." The van molly stopped herself again, rubbing her face with a paw. All jokes aside, she could tell that something was bugging her clanmate. Why else would he be here? Unless he's just passing by. Either way, we haven't talked in a while and I know something is always on Icemask's mind. "Why did you come here, dearie? I know I only come here when I need some time to think, I'm sure you come here for similar things. You know you can talk to me about anything, I'm essentially a giant walking ear."Tags: Aria Notes: WOO i love ice and his bird |
