Full Appearance Description: Opalkit almost perfectly embodies the stone she was named after. Delicate and pale, with only touches of color when the light hits her. She is a creamy white color, and she appears to glow in the darkness of the caves. The only signs of her gingery point markings are on her head and tail, the bridge of her nose being the darkest in color and the backs of her ears following closely. The colors will spread out and darken ever so slightly as she ages, but only the slightest of orange tints will appear on her legs where the point markings are supposed to be. These colors will seem to blaze if she ever appears in full sunlight. Her colors will never darken to a full ginger or red, just light yet bright orange-yellow. She is small and delicately built, with slender legs and a long neck. She is average sized in comparison to her clanmates, yet despite that will always look a little kittenish, as large blue eyes and pink nose will persist into adulthood. Her fur is just a tad shorter while she is a kitten, but it will grow out to a long and full length. It will always have a slightly fuzzy texture and be a little curly and cloud-like. Opalkit takes care to make sure that her claws are nice and sharp even as a kitten. Her eyes are ever so slightly crosseyed towards the center of her face.

The Past
but simply calling out sins don't bring you closer to god
Opalkit was the sole offspring of a pair of young ChasmClanners, they had earned their names fairly recently and many cats in the clan believed they had rushed into their relationship. Rushed into having kits, especially. Most couples waited moons to get married, and then moons to have any children. The longer they spent together, the stronger their bond, the greater the love that they could share. But the two young lovers insisted that their bond was strong regardless of age, and the ancestors had blessed their ceremony so what could be wrong with it? Opalkit was the product of that love, and all was right.
That was, until the "happy" couple started to get cold feet. The rumors and whispers started to seep into the cracks. One of them claimed that the other was manipulating them, not treating them right. They didn't love them like they used to. They weren't keeping their promises, and they were arguing over the smallest of things. This would have been all and good, if they hadn't already been tied together by the words of their ceremony and bound together by their daughter. To fall apart now would be irredeemable. Their clanmates, no one would ever look at them the same. And not to mention the fate of poor Opalkit. The child of two parents who did not love one another enough to stay? She would be laughed at, pitied, cast away by her blood. So they stuck together, despite the arguing, and decided to try and make things work.
Things didn't work, and Opalkit suffered the brunt of it. One of her parents didn't seem to care much for her, bringing her little presents and calling her their beautiful girl but not doing much to satisfy her need for enrichment and parental love. She thirsted for their praise and often tried to do things to make them happy, but was more often then not ignored. They had more important things to do than care for their daughter, it seemed. The other was too busy covering up, convincing family members that everything was okay, and pretending that they were a happy family to give Opalkit much more than a few kind words and a smile. They created the illusion that their family was perfect, yet instead of nurturing and possibly fixing things within, it was neglected and destined to wither.
The kitten's moods grew erratic, content at one moment and spitting mad the next. She wasn't being taught the things she should have, and as a result her behavior ran rampant. There was no punishment for bad behavior nor encouragement of good behavior. Desperate for attention, Opalkit started to act up in little ways. Teasing other kittens to make them pay attention to her, and being overall an unbearable little brat. All her parents ever told her was that she was perfect, she got it into her head that she could do no wrong and ran with it. She craved familial attention, but her parents didn't like her to spend too much time with cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents for fear she would let something slip. Though the rest of the family only meant the best, one of her eagle-eyed parents would always swoop in and guide her away from them. So as soon as she was old enough to understand, Opalkit sought to speak to her ancestors. They would listen, they loved her, and her parents had no power to stop her.
Pray to them that she makes it to pupil without losing her head.
