Mintheart awaited the appearance of everyone that would be in her herb lesson. She had a good idea of who would be there, but she wasn't completely certain. She was anxious at the thought of having to share her own knowledge with everyone, she didn't want to mess up, not even once. Myrtleleaf did calm some of Minthearts fears at least slightly, but she just had too many to keep track of. What if I say something wrong and they end up thinking I don't know what I'm talking about? What if I really don't know what I'm talking about and I've just been faking it this whole time? Mintheart could feel her heartbeat racing as she heard the sound of pawsteps entering her den, three sets of them.
She put on a fake smile, as if she really was holding herself together. She had rarely ever been this stressed before, and she wasn't going to start letting it show. "Hey Antlerpaw, Icemask, and Ivynose!" Mintheart greeted each of them cheerfully, heading over to where her herbs were neatly organized. The pile was getting smaller and smaller everyday, and it was worrying her. If this gets any smaller I don't know what we're going to do. Am I just going to pull herbs out of the freakin' sky? "Go ahead and make yourselves comfy!" The she-cat pulled out a large dock leaf, turning around and sitting it down in front of her. She did the same with feverfew, and the very last of the goldenrod. She spaced them evenly apart, making sure to be extra careful.
"Now, can either of you tell me what this herb here is?" Mintheart pointed at the one they had probably seen the most of, dock. It was one of the most common herbs, but even then, they still needed to find more. "It's ok if you don't know, otherwise you might be next in line to take my position!" She joked, gently pushing it forward for each of them to inspect.

ivynose...
Ivynose tilted her head curiously as she took in the medicine cat's den. She had only been in here a few times, really, and those times were for light scratches and mild colds. She was a generally pretty hardy, with a strong immune system. So she didn't get sick often, if much at all. It was unlikely that she would know much about the herbs themselves, only vaguely remembering a scent that Mintheart used for some scratches and maybe a scent of something for a harsh headache she once had. "Good morning, Mintleaf," she purred out, ears twitching as her yellow eyes tracked the medicine cat was pulling a few herbs delicately out of the small piles that were stacked and neatly organized. Does Mintheart keep the piles this small? Ivynose thought with some curiosity, arching her back and stretching out fully to relieve some kinks and cramps in her limbs.
Her paws tingled with the aftermath of them falling asleep as she sat, curling her tail around them and perking her ears to appropriately listen to Mintheart. She tilted her head slightly as the small white she-cat pointed at a dark leaf that Ivynose stared blankly at. Reaching out a paw, she tentatively poked at it and sniffed at it hesitantly. Ivynose remembered seeing this particular herb out on the territory previously, a common weed that was becoming harder to see these days. It.. smelled vaguely familiar? "It.. smells familiar? Just a little bit." she admitted honestly, shaking her head slightly. "I don't know what it is. Just that it used to sprout up more often in the forest, and seemed more like a weed." Ivynose was no medicine cat, but she was here to learn to help Mintheart hunt down some to increase her stock.
It was going to be interesting, as Ivynose wasn't sure how long she would be helping the white she-cat for.

A N T L E R P A W 320 words Antlerpaw followed quickly after Ivynose into the medicine cat den though the apprentice didn't bother to look around much. He'd been here more often than most recently to visit his sister Emberpaw while she was under the care of Mintheart for an injury while climbing with another apprentice. In that time he'd spoken with Mintheart a few times though he tried not to bother the molly if at all possible. Now he was here to learn from her along with two warriors. The task before him made Antlerpaw walk a little taller as they entered where Mintheart kept her herbs. He settled beside Ivynose and gave the bubbly medicine cat his undivided attention.
Antlerpaw tilted his head in concentrated curiosity as Mintheart pulled out the three herbs and then asked them to identify the large leafed one. He sat back and twitched his tail slightly as Ivynose leaned forward to sniff at the herb. When the molly moved away it was his turn to inspect the leaf and he stepped forward to nose at the plant quizzically.
E01DstWK : 1-10 he does not recognize the herb; 11-20 he does
Antlerpaw closed his eyes as he tried to focus on the smell of the herb; although his life had been limited thus far to the camp up until recently he'd been learning a lot about his clan's land over the last couple of moons. Something about the smoothness and light smell of the leaf had Antlerpaw remembering a time when his mother had applied some kind of chewed up paste to a scratch he'd received after tumbling with his siblings as a kit close to the entrance to camp. They'd all taken a few scratches from the thorns there and she'd gotten help from the medicine cat in the form of.. "Dock!" Antlerpaw blurted out suddenly as the memory finally clicked in his mind.
The apprentice looked up at Mintheart for confirmation. If he wasn't right he was going to be wholly embarrassed in front of the warriors that sat beside him.
