Russetfall - Tom - Chasmclan - Guard
Russetfall's pelt brushed along the tunnel walls as he walked. There was very little light down in the tunnels but this did not bother the tom. Moons of being taught how to navigate his home had made him a pro at feeling his way along via his whiskers. He inhaled deeply, jaws set slightly apart. The scents he drew in were of dank earth and fellow clanmates. No sign of predators, at least for the moment. Many animals liked to invade the caves which Chasmclan inhabited. That is where Russetfall's duties came into play. He was assigned to guard the caves and tunnels which made up the mountain dwelling clan's home. He took this job very seriously, having always been proud to serve his clan. A newly made warrior the young tom was eager to prove himself in whatever manner he could.
Ahead the tunnel widened, opening up onto the camp's main cave where meetings were held, prey eaten and tongues shared. Per usual cats could be found laying with their bellies pressed to the cool rocky ground. Some ate, while others chatted or kept a close eyes on wandering kits. Russetfall weaved among them dipping his head occasionally to another cat or dodging a tumbling kit. Reaching the fresh-kill pile the reddish brown warrior chose out an owl and carried it a few rabbit lengths off to lay down and eat. Owl was his favorite treat. They weren't always easy to catch but a popular treat among the cats. Clearing away the feathers, Russetfall dug in savoring every bite.
