The Past
A player, singing I la-la-love you
Amaryllis had been destined for greatness the moment she was born. She was a beautiful kitten, child to the she-cat of a rich lady. It was safe to say that Amaryllis was sold for a very high price, as soon as she was able to be taken away from her mother. She, along with her sister, were sold to a jazz performer that was part of a Vaudeville act. The performer spoiled both Amaryllis and her sister, and Amaryllis quickly got used to a lifestyle filled with the greatest pleasures of life.
As time passed and Amaryllis grew, she began to catch the attention of the other cats that her owner had. It was no surprise, really. Amaryllis was elegant, graceful, and beautiful. All the attention of the people and cats who vied for her attention made Amaryllis' ego swell. At first, Amaryllis ignored all her suitors, leading them on and breaking their hearts cruelly. However, a certain she-cat caught her eye, and Amaryllis fell hard. Never before had Amaryllis loved so deeply.
In fact, Amaryllis might have settled with the she-cat forever, had it not been for one measly detail. One night, as everybody was getting ready for a show, Amaryllis, her mate, and her sister were all hanging out together, talking and laughing the night away. Amaryllis stood up and said she'd be right back, she'd only go grab a quick snack. When she returned, she couldn't help the gasp that escaped her as she took in the sight before her: her mate and her sister, cuddled close.
Well, Amaryllis didn't even stop to think. Fury filled her, she saw red, her blood boiled in her veins. She launched herself at her mate and sister, killing them in cold blood. After the deed was done, Amaryllis realized she'd be taken away, deemed a violent cat and unlovable. Her owner would never accept her again. Amaryllis ran away that same night, hurt and angry and scared, looking for a place that would take her in.
At least I think I do!
