"Come on, come on!" Ferretface called happily out to the flame point lagging a few steps behind her, turning and shooting her a big toothy smile. "You'll enjoy it, I promise! When have I ever steered you wrong?" She purred, slowing and nudging the molly's shoulder with her own. She even threw in a wink for good measure. Don't answer that question. But seriously, this is such a good idea I can't believe it took me so long to come up with it! It's a good thing I'm a tunneler, or else it would have never crossed my mind. Well... I didn't exactly come up with it all by myself. I was taught it. Not purely my design, but shhh no one needs to know. She was a hell of a lot more excited than her clanmate for this, but it was mostly because Beryldawn had no idea what they were doing. The best things were always surprises! She loved having to figure out what the other cat was planning for her, but maybe the other cat preferred to be told straight what's up. That just ain't the way I roll. She had bounded ahead of her point companion and now turned back to look at her. Beryldawn was so small, just like most of the other hunters. And slim, graceful, poised. Pale cream dashed with white and orangey ginger, light colors that were akin to many. But she had a rather gaunt look to her that wasn't shared by the other cats with her role. Ferretface guessed it was because she her health had been so sickly, up until recently. Poor thing. She hasn't gotten the chance to live without worrying about her health... well, that's the reason you gotta live life while you got it! You never know what's just around the bend... Speaking of around the bend, they were just about at their destination. The seal point had woken up early this morning to get some things ready, and she hoped that no one had touched what she had set up. The pair rounded the corner and the cavern opened up around them. It was bigger than the tunnel they had just been in, but was still rather long and winding. Gems of various shapes and sizes glimmered from where they were embedded in the walls, the higher up the sides you got the more frequent they were. It was mostly because cats couldn't reach that high, but some of the stronger tunnelers were working on moving rocks so they could be gathered. "Here we are!" She announced, puffing out her chest and continuing to lead the way to where she had left a few choice items they would need. Right behind one of the stalagmites shooting up out of the ground like teeth out of gums, was what they needed. Right where I left them. The cat pulled them out with a flourish and presented them to her new friend. It was a trio of rather average looking rocks, all just a little big bigger than a cat's paw. Each had a little thing that set them apart from the others. They were hard to carry in your mouth, but doable. And a bit of an aching jaw was worth it. "Don't be fooled by their unassuming appearance!" She meowed with the energy of a radio personality. "I picked these out just for you. You get to pick your favorite out of the three." She waved a paw across them and then smiled up at Beryldawn. She knew exactly what she was doing. She hoped that the other cat hadn't guessed it yet. That would ruin the surprise.Tags: jinxy Notes: here we go babey!! |

Beryldawn followed her friend with a pleasant smile. She was feeling better today, better than most and had enough energy to go on this little adventure with her friend Ferretface. The Mink molly was pleasant to be around anyway, even if she didn't exactly have the energy she didn't mind some discomfort if it meant hanging out with her, she just made things too much fun. "Come on, come on!" Beryl chuckled at her friends enthusiasm and quickly caught up. "OK OK, I'm right here! WOO I need to get into shape, I'm huffing like an old lady" Beryl mewed, looking down at her flabby stomach. She seemed to gain weight then loose it so often. "You'll enjoy it, I promise! When have I ever steered you wrong?" Beryldawn raised an eye-brow playfully. Suddenly the molly raced ahead, then turned toward her with the same excited smile. "Here we are!" "Jeez you look like your about to burst" Beryl chuckled, approaching the molly slowly to see what she had in store for her. Ferret whipped out three, very boring looking rocks, all very rough looking. Beryldawn tipped her head to the side to examine them. Of course they may LOOK like ordinary rocks but the look on Ferrets..well face made her believe there was much more to these boring rocks. "Don't be fooled by their unassuming appearance!", it seemed Ferret knew exactly what she was thinking. "Right of course- I know the saying never judge a rock by its... rockness" she meowed awkwardly looking the stones up and down again. "I picked these out just for you. You get to pick your favorite out of the three." After a few moments of hesitation she placed a paw on the middle one. "This one" she said, looking up at her friend with a smile. Tags: Owl,

"Ya know, I do know a few good workout routines if you ever wanna train with me." Ferretface looked up at the flame point from her crouch by the stones, a big ol' smirk emerging on her face. She was tempted to wink, but managed to keep control of herself. It was a serious offer, she did have a few things she always fell back upon that kept her in shape. Mostly swimming, it worked her legs and helped her lung capacity. And bonus; it was fun as hell. Just swim around with a few friends for a day and you ached the next, but your muscles were stronger for it. Plus she was no stranger to being a little larger than the average slim ChasmClan cat. She claimed that she was big boned as a joke most of the time, but she did eat... a bit more than most. Hey, she did a lot of work though! She earned every bite she took. She let out a laugh when Beryldawn looked at her with a confused look on her face, not sounding very enthusiastic about the rocks. "Aw yeah, these rocks are rockin' it!" She said, making up for her friend's cautiousness with her own zeal. After a few moments of looking between the trio of ordinary rocky-looking rocks the flame point settled on the middle one, reaching out a paw to tentatively touch it. "Nice choice!" Ferretface meowed happily, glad that the molly was playing along with her even though she had no idea what was going on. "Can you pick her up now? I know my mouth is probably bigger than yours but lugging prey about the territory probably gives you an advantage!" The molly nodded and then looked between the two remaining rocks. One of them was a bit more reddish in color, while the other had some silver flecks. Hmm... pick my poison. If I cold take them both I would but I don't think even this big mouth can carry two.
She settled for the glittery one, but before she reached down to pick it up she looked up at Beryldawn to instruct her. "Ok! We're gonna need to walk a little bit further- but I promise it isn't that far! Just a stone's throw from here." And at that, she picked the rock up before leading the way out of the cave. She picked a tunnel to the left, one that went up a little steeply. There were good footholds though, and if her stubby little legs could carry her up Beryldawn's legs could definitely manage it. It really didn't take very long, just a few minutes of silence and they emerged out into a cave. Here we are! Our final destination. Ferretface slowed a bit, setting the rock down so she could speak again. "I dunno if you've ever been here before, it's pretty much a place only we tunnelers use." She spoke, and her voice echoed down and around the cave's sides. She had nicknamed it the pit, because honestly that was what it was. A big old chasm in the ground. "Welcome to what I call the pit. Careful not to get too close to the edge yet, though I trust you to fall responsibly." She winked. They didn't have much to fear because they could twist in midair and ensure that they landed on their feet. But who knew what was at the bottom? Who knows indeed. "Ok!" She said brightly, giving her fellow colorpoint a nudge. Now's not the time to get nervous! She knows I'll catch her if she falls... well. She picked her stone back up and padded over to the edge. "This may sound wacky, but on the count of three I want you to drop your beautiful chosen one over into the abyss!" Ferretface set the stone on the edge so she could count. She would just whack it over the edge, it didn't really matter how it got down there as long as it went. They say the journey is what matters in life, but for these rocks its the destination. She was poised to strike, and waited for her friend to join her at her side before starting her countdown. "Ready? Three... two... one... LET 'ER GO!"Tags: jinxy Notes: c; |

Beryldawn smiled seeing the other molly smile. She loved making others happy, it always made her feel better. "Nice choice!"Can you pick her up now? I know my mouth is probably bigger than yours but lugging prey about the territory probably gives you an advantage!" Beryldawn looked over at the rock she picked. " Yeah- hmm ok wait hold on" she mooed, awkwardly fitting the large stone in her mouth and picking it up. "if I woose a twoof i'm bwaming you" she said around the rock playfully, though already her teeth felt sore gripping the rock so tightly. 'I have no idea what she's planning but i'm sure it'll be fun' she thought hopefully, following the other molly. "I dunno if you've ever been here before, it's pretty much a place only we tunnelers use." Beryldawn looked around at the unknown area. She hadn't been very far, in fact there where many tunnels for hunters she had yet to explore, she didn't exactly get a chance when she was younger, but she could see them now! Maybe Ferret could give her a tour sometime. She shook her head at the molly, still not letting go of the rock yet. "Welcome to what I call the pit. Careful not to get too close to the edge yet, though I trust you to fall responsibly." Beryldawn's eyes widened as she looked down into the dark abyss. Did, it have an end? Where did it even go? How did it even get here? So many questions, so little answers. She looked over at Ferret again and felt her chest lighten at how happy and excited the molly looked. "This may sound wacky, but on the count of three I want you to drop your beautiful chosen one over into the abyss!" Beryldawn raised an eyebrow but still didn't let go, ready for any further instruction. "Ready? Three... two... one... LET 'ER GO!"
Beryldawn tossed the rock and watched as it dropped and disappear into the darkness. She waited for any sound, and after awhile she heard a loud crash. She looked over at Ferret, seeing her excited expression still hadn't changed. "Alright, now what? Or is that it and we just gave a rock sacrifice to the gem gods?" she asked playfully. Tags: Owl,
