ferretface - chasmclan - tunneler - application Ferretface's eyes winked and shone as she weaved her way around the little streamlets of water that branched out from the gem pool in the middle of camp. She occasionally glanced over to see the gemstones blinking back at her. There was just enough light in the cavern from the worms on the ceiling to make their many faces show up. The pale colored cat herself seemed to glow with an eerie blue light. She was tempted to be distracted by the waterfall and the sparkly things but she had a thing she needed to do. Her destination: the leader's ledge. Many cats wouldn't dare to jump up to Spottedgem's ledge, much less wake her up in the middle of the night, but Ferretface wasn't like many cats. Some may even call her insane. But really, they were childhood friends. If anyone could wake up their beautiful leader, it was her. They had drifted apart in the past moons due to the other cat's position; she had less chances to be with friends and had to give everyone a bit of her time. I suppose if you're leader, everyone is your friend. And if they're not, you want to make them. Either that or they feel obligated to like you. No one ever mentions it, so that's telling. She fluidly leapt from the lower ledges up to the leader's one. Her legs were strong and her steps were light, she was barely a ghost to the cats sleeping upon them. She had plenty of practice climbing up and down rocks and jumping between them, it was a piece of cake. Finally, she reached the ledge she desired. There Spottedgem slept alone, which was odd but not in the case of leaders. And it played in her favor, as she need not worry about waking anyone but the leader. The seal point padded over to the sleeping cat, pausing for a few moments to watch her. She was always so graceful. Even in her sleep, she looks as elegant as a flower. I probably snore, but father and Nightbreeze are used to it by now. Ferretface bent and nudged the cat's cheek with her nose, before pulling a whisker length to speak in a quiet and gentle voice. "Wake up, sleeping beauty." She waited until the other cat had been roused from her sleep to continue. She put on a cocky smile. "Fancy meeting you here, hm? Apologies for waking you up from your sweet dreams, but a little bird told me there would be a clear sky tonight. I thought I might go. and you know, one isn't supposed to leave the caves all by themself. The first cat I thought of was you, as I know oh so well how much you love to admire the stars...
