Magpiepaw - 8 moons - female - GlenClan- Birch Family - apprentice The dark tip of her tail twitched, making a small rustling sound on the dry grass underneath as she tried to press her small body as closely to the ground as possible. Amber eyes were fixated on the opening of the bramble tunnel that was the entrance to their camp. Her whole body seemed to tickle with anticipation as she waited for the small figure of her mentor to emerge. They were supposed to meet just outside of camp and Magpiepaw was sure to land a surprise attack on her mentor this time.
When she had first been made an apprentice Magpiepaw had not been quite certain Myrtleleaf's choice for her mentor had been the best for her. Sure, she had known Teapad before and liked her for playing fun games with her as a kit, but the warrior was also older than most and sometimes seemed small and fragile compared to others and most importantly: Teapad was of Pine Family which Magpiepaw felt rather awkward about since her mother had switched back to them, leaving Magpiepaw and her siblings in Birch Family with their father who was not their father... Well. One could say Magpiepaw had had mixed feeling towards her mentor.
Yet she had soon learned that Teapad was a blast to have teach her. Magpiepaw certainly never was bored with the small tortoiseshell molly. And it was surprisingly hard to surprise the senior warrior with anything. But this time... Magpiepaw forced her tail to stay still. Her ears strained forward for any sound the bramble tunnel would make... Tags: autumn Notes: woop

The camp was slow and dark that morning. It seemed that the few bodies that were outside were moving like slugs. Clouds covered the sky, threatening rain. The air was heavy with humidity, and every breath the senior warrior took drove her to look back at her nest. She woke up only a little bit prior, spoke to a fellow warrior, cleaned a thorn out of her fur, and now she was just drowsily watching the entrance to the camp, waiting. She planned for a training session with her apprentice, Magpiepaw the day before. Teapad spent the night trying to figure out what skills her little apprentice could improve upon. How could she turn a lesson into something fun to do? Eventually, she settled on stealth training for the day. It was something Magpiepaw seemed to struggle with, but also something that Teapad was very skilled in. She figured she could teach her apprentice a few stealth tricks, though if that turned out to be a drag she'd probably switch to hunting. Teapad had the general outline of a plan formed in her head, though she knew it was unlikely they would stick to it. If the clouds proved to be right, and it was going to rain today, it was going to be difficult to train. She figured the two of them could just go with the flow and take things as they come. The tortoiseshell stared at the entrance, suddenly realizing that she was seeking out her apprentice. She didn't spot the black molly amongst the squirming furs of her clanmates. That meant either Magpiepaw was already outside, or she was dragging her feet. Since the warrior was being slow, she decided she would just go outside and wait for her apprentice like they usually did. It was easier to find one another when there was a designated place to be in, no matter how long it took the other to go. Teapad started for the bramble thicket, eyeing the moist ground before her pads. The ground in front of the entrance was worn from moons of use. Their ancestors walked the same path many, many times before. When the tortoiseshell walked the same path she felt the surge and power of the warriors before her, ready to start the day. Dainty paws led her outside. Head held high, she observed the area around her- unaware of the little cat patiently hiding. bern

and as i try to soar so high
my wings i find are clipped
Magpiepaw's pupils contracted to narrow slits when she heard the sound of pawsteps emerging from the tunnel to camp. She tasted the air but could not exactly tell which warrior it was. But with that timing... It had to be Teapad. Pupils dilated as she recognized the diluted tortoiseshell head of her mentor appear. Finally! All the tension that had build up in her body was released as the young black and white she-cat lunged forward with a small shriek of "Surprise!"PPHGnkOo +1 (for surprise attack) Scenario 1: [ if dice roll was {roll </= 2} read here:The wide grin on her face quickly faded as Magpiepaw realized she got stuck in the thorny branches of her hiding spot, ending her jump quite abruptly. Her triumphant shriek turned into a wail as she tried to save face and somehow untangle herself at least with something that resembled grace. Once she had done it she quickly combed down her fur and ignored the stinging pain in her thigh. Pretending nothing unplanned had happened was the only thing she could think of doing now. She just hoped Teapad would also pretend. She shyly met her mentor's gaze.]Scenario 2: [ if dice roll was {2 < roll </= 6} read here:She landed right next to her mentor and swiped her white paw at the small molly's ears. She almost overdid it though and had to fight for her balance to not topple over and tackle her mentor after all. She made a few not so graceful steps to the side before finding her footing and facing Teapad with a wide grin. "Got you this time, didn't I?!", she made a small jump with excitement, grinning from ear to ear.] Scenario 3: [ if dice roll was {roll > 6} read here:She moved her tail viciously mid-air as she turned her body around to tackle her mentor sideways. Her extended paws wrapped around Teapad's middle part and Magpiepaw used her momentum to flip them over so they'd both roll on the ground. The apprentice laughed as she tried to untangle their limbs. "Looks like I got you this time, Teapad!"]Tags: autumn Notes: testing this site's dice *shrugs*
