Negative Traits: Airy | Clumsy | Selfish
Full Trait Description: Marigoldfeather has lived much of her life with the careless air of one fortuned with all that she'd want or need. She is clumsy with her steps, actions, and words though over time she has grown more accustomed to thinking before acting, the same cannot be said for her words or where she places her feet. Growing up the only kit of two dotting parents Marigoldfeather grew up with the proneness for selfishness; anything she asked for she received and although it was wholly unintentional, this self-centered behavior followed her through apprenticeship into warriorhood. Her looks and soft voice make Marigoldfeather an incredibly captivating molly which only intensifies her basic instinct towards selfishness as it can be easy to get what she wants from unsuspecting individuals. Despite her selfish tendencies Marigoldfeather is still true to her Pine Family nature and is very loving and affectionate towards all her friends and family; even if it is ill-received. She is incredibly giving with her emotions and feels everything fanatically; it is rare that Marigoldfeather feels only half way about anything. This typically leads to dramatic spectacles on her part; be it anger leading her to lashing out and causing fights or her hurt feelings making her mope about for days or weeks. Her emotional behavior and adventurous nature has made Marigoldfeather incredibly courageous over time; she may be air-headed much of the time but she is not afraid to face down judgement or a predator square in the face with defiance. Her past has taught her much and she's learned the hard way about how bad actions lead to unwanted consequences.

The Past
She was born the only child of two incredibly loving and kind Pine Family warriors. They were content with their little family and their gorgeous, carefree daughter had stolen their hearts entirely. Marigoldkit got anything she asked for be it the freshest kill or the most free time running about around camp compared to other kits her age. Marigoldkit took it all in stride and of course it made sense to her that she was the center of her parents attention.
When she became an apprentice she caught the eye of another; Riverpaw. He was big and strong and followed her around like she was the sun and stars to his world. She accepted this without batting an eye; why wouldn't he adore her like her parents did? She felt quite a bit of affection for the tom who chased after her heart and accepted his gifts and attention with a kind, sparkling smile. He would present her with flowers and feathers, tucking them into her thick fur with a sweet purr and murmured words filled with affection. All this she soaked up like sweet sunshine. Of course she loved him; he showered her with everything she'd ever wanted and certainly anything she ever needed. It wasn't a second thought to change families when the two reached warriorhood; it had certainly made River- thrilled beyond belief and she loved to see him happy. River-'s happiness only intensified her own and though she was unfamiliar with Birch Family lifestyles, she learned because it was important to her mate.
It wasn't long into their warriorhood that River- began hinting at wanting kits. It made sense to Marigoldfeather that he would feel this way, he came from Birch Family legacies and tradition ran deep in his veins. She wanted nothing more than to see her mate happy; his happiness made her life sweet, easy, and carefree. So the two began trying for kits. And tried. And tried. They tried for a long time and Marigoldfeather could see River- losing hope in molding the family he'd always thought he'd have.
After more than a year of working towards something that now seemed impossible Marigoldfeather turned to another for attention. It made her feel guilty to admit but her mate made her sad, she couldn't give him what he wanted and after so long it was hard to be around the dying flame within him. The spark that caught her interest was a charming, albeit cocky Willow Family tom and he gave her a startling surprise after their one time fling. At first; Marigoldfeather didn't realize she was pregnant until a more experienced queen pointed out the signs to her. She rushed to the medicine cat; unsure of if it could possibly be true after so much waiting and working towards the creation of a family.
It was confirmed. She was with kits and Marigoldfeather panicked at first. She felt as if the world knew of her misdeed and shame filled her heart and head. It made her feel sick to know what she'd done now followed her and would forever. When she told River- she was pregnant he was overjoyed and praised the Goddess for their fortune at last. The thought of telling him the truth crushed her. So Marigoldfeather made the decision to remain silent; the kits would be his and that's all anyone would ever need to know.
Soon Antlerkit, Magpiekit, and Emberkit were born and three new rays of light filled Marigoldfeather's life. She'd never known happiness like this, her kits were her world. She pushed away her past and focused on this future she could see stretching out before her; River- her darling mate and her three kits growing up strong and proud Birch Family cats. It was so.. perfect. But the biological father of her kits had different plans. He wanted his kits to know they were his and would tell them if Marigoldfeather did not. She refused him, he would not ruin this life of hers that she'd finally found, she felt complete and adored by her mate and kits. They were together when he shattered her world. She saw him crossing the camp; the image framed and burned into her mind forever. She stood to tell him off, to leave her kits alone but he was there standing before them already, his treacherous words filling their ears and cementing in their hearts. Marigoldfeather broke; she lunged for the tom and did not hold back. She fought tooth and claw, as if mauling him would reverse time and the truth would crawl back into his mouth where she could silence it forever.
The fight of course brought too much attention. Soon everyone in camp surrounded her, pressing her into a circle with her kits, the Willow tom and.. River-.
She lost it all; everything she'd found. River- left her, her kits were two moons away from their apprenticeship and once they left the nursery they left her behind too. Birch Family despised her. She didn't blame them. With tail tucked low to her belly she asked Myrtleleaf if she could return to Pine Family. It was the only sanctuary left for her after she'd broken it all.
Now two moons after her kits became apprentices she still feels lost and has tried to reach out to them, tried to talk with them and show her love to them. So far they have ignored her entirely but she has not given up hope. Not yet.
