.. HIGH POSITION TRYOUTS .. Here's the place to tryout when there is a High Position that is open! Please be aware of the expectations for high positions in our rules and be sure that you can follow them before submitting a character for a position. Your character must also be approved to apply; their history and name will be altered afterwords if they are chosen to take into account their new rank. The exception to this is if a clan is banned. For example: if DuneClan cats are banned, you may still apply for Nightwalker leader with a wip app. However, once a clan is unbanned please do not apply until your character has been accepted.
We will be judging our selections upon two main things: First is how active and friendly the roleplayer is as a member of our community. We would like the roleplayers of our high positions to be sociable and around as often as they can, so members new and old have no problem approaching them for plots, roleplays, questions about the clan, or anything of the like. Members being around for longer should not influence our opinion on who to choose for a position, because of how new the site is. Everyone is a newbie c: Second is, of course, how well the character fits in the position. This varies from clan to clan, and even from time to time. We may want a character who meshes well with the other high positions one month and another month we may choose someone who clashes and would cause a bit of a stir. Ask yourself: Is your character unique? Are they bringing a new personality to the table? Or are they just part of another cliché or stereotype? (Yes, those can be fun sometimes, but there are other ways to have fun with new ideas as well!) We want characters that are complex, with diverse personalities, problems, and views. Nobody can be perfect; give us those juicy faults! The roleplayer should put as much thought and passion into their character as they can and we should be able to see that. We will also be more inclined to choose oc's that are older, have experience, and have been in their position for a number of moons in character. It would be rather peculiar if all the clans got new high positions around the same time. Not everyone can be a young and inexperienced leader who's figuring it out as they go along.
Best of luck to anyone and everyone who is applying! Positions will be chosen after there are at least two applications to one rank. There will be a warning posted to this thread and the discord stating which high positions we will be picking about 24 hours before it closes so members have time to get any last minute applications in. If you need an extension, don't be afraid to ask staff for it!
Copy-pasted from our Rules:
Please use this code for your applicants:

[Lilycloud[/a][/u] - Deputy- Chasmclan - @/jinxy[/b] How long your cat has been in this position: Lily has not been in a HP, but Warrior wise she's been one for 15 mmoons Why your character would be good for this position: I'll say it outright- Lily would make a terrible leader, book wise that is, for plots it'd be very fun. Lilycloud is self conscious, anxious and tends to let others walk right over her. Despite this she has a big heart, and tends to love everyone she meets, good intentions or not. While Lily would make a poor leader, she'd make a great deputy. Lily already likes/respects Spottedgem and she follows orders to a T. Lily likes to plan, and solve situations and likes to be helpful. While she'll hate the position at first, I believe she'll enjoy it later. To spice things up- a very dramatic plot is in store for Lily later, which may change the views of other cats around her. Though I won't spoil it (I think you all know) it'd be very fun. As extra measures, Lily's to-be mate is Spottedgem, so the two will be a power couple leading the clan together. RP EXAMPLE Lilycloud tiredly flopped into her nest. She had spent entire day hunting for her clan, then hanging out with her sister Dawnstone before going down to the caverns to search for more gems. Lilycloud hoped she'd bring her some, she loved gems. Her favorite though was Rose Quarts, a gem she always assigned herself. It was silly to see yourself in a rock, but something about the stone drew her near, made her feel safe. She hugged the one in her nest closer with her tail as though it may roll away if she didn't know it was near at all times. Lilycloud looked over when she heard lots of voiced echo along the cave, soft murmuring turned to greetings. She looked over to see it was a bunch of tunneler's back with gems. Nothing Lilycloud understood, she didn't know about caves and gems, only some names. She'd ask Dawnstone to teach her but she hadn't seemed to remember any names. She turned back, facing away from the new cats that had joined and let her mind wander. "Hello, Lilycloud! How are you?" Lilycloud squeaked, jumping a bit and whirling around to face Spottedgem, the leader of Chasmclan. 'Oh no am I in trouble? What did I do?' Lilycloud put on a shaky smile, her ears flat against her head. "H-h-hello Spottedgem" she meowed, dipping her head respecably. "I-i-I'm g-good. y-you?" she hated how she stuttered through the sentence but she kept on the nervous smile.

Dawnstone - Deputy - Chasmclan - @/aria,How long your cat has been in this position: It would be recently Why your character would be good for this position: A Go-Getter/Trend-setter/Hard-worker: Dawnstone is very ambitious gal. Anything she wants she get no questioned asked. She loves a good challenge and will being some new and fun ideas to the plate. being spontaneous and a bit unpredictable. She is kind who would wear a large over-sized cat and not ever care who see. Dawn loves to try knew ideas and bring more traditions in Chasmclan that begin can family closes than every before. Sly Vixen: Dawnstone might seems be a sweet little angel as a glance but there a devious with a side of devil horns to her as well. Well not caring about the power as much she does cares about making her that Chasmclan is at one hundred and ten percent best at all times which might being Dawn and Spotted to butt-heads. Should Spottedgem misses a note Dawn will always be there to sing her "sweet" little lullaby. I personally think it would fun to see spotted and dawn will try to one up each other.Mature/ Approachable Parental Figure: Dawnstone wouldn't change to much as becoming deputy aside from a few priorities. She will be very approached like always and fun-loving as can be. She would never turn blind to a clan-mate in need rank or not. Through outsiders will be very skeptical of them if they move themselves worthy she will be fine. Highranks:The Chiefs: There are her right-paws. In the beginning she will look to them for guidance until she get can "her paws on the ground and even after that will try to be close-kit with regular meetings. Spottedgem: Dawnstone and Spottedgem will be close friend in arms and eventually sister-in-laws but might act more like real sisters. However the reveal of her and her sister sins kits will put a huge strain on the relationship to the point because decide as dawn is deputy and spotted is leader and nothing more. Will it changed will depend! Current plot: Dawnstone is the younger of Lilycloud and has Gorsehoney as a mate who is huge cheater. Lilycloud is destined to be mates with spottedgem and Dawnstone will one of spotted's close friend. However spottedgem will fling with dawn's own mate Gorsehoney with her knowledge and hibs this from her. Gorsehoney will cheat with her own sister, Lilycloud and does the same and as you all know some secret must come to a end. That will cause huge tense not only for all of Chasmclan but the heirs of too. Depends on the things this will a lot of drama and plots between everything that happens. How knows Dawnstone will challenge the might spotted in hopes of taking for herself. The Black gems: Depends on how long this will continued, Dawnstone will try to increased quota of work productivity especially tunnelers. They would will a higher quota for their amount of gems to find also she will use the black gems influx as sign that spottedgem family's has caused the black gems influx as it started just as came into power (If I am reading the timeline right) In all dawnstone would be fun choice who would will pack a punch in chasmclan and living behind drama will last forever in Chasmclan history.

Suncatcher - Traveler - Duneclan - Milktooth.
How long your cat has been in this position: As a Traveler? Suncatcher has only been an official Traveler for two and a half moons, as a Traveler Apprentice, it's been around 10 moons.
Why your character would be good for this position:
"So, uh, why would I be good for this position? Well, not only am I the only feline in the clan that's been training to do so, but I don't really think we have much of a choice. My mentor is dead, and if we don't get a move on, we will be too."
Out of all the cats that are currently being trained in Duneclan, Chase is the only one that worked side-by-side with his mentor, the ex-Traveler, before their death. He has knowledge (though limited) on the clan's layout and its surroundings, he is seen roaming it comfortably and is not afraid to get lost and recover from it. Though he is young, his intellect on the terrain he ventures is no doubt a plus for this rank, and even before he was placed under the now late Traveler, he walked the sands freely without fear.
"Listen, I know it's a lot to wager, but I promise you I'll try my hardest to get us there safely... I still remember the paths, the places we camped out at during bad weather... It's an all or nothing task, and I'm the best cat for a job like that. No, the only cat."
Call him egotistic, but the male knows what he's good at, and when the stakes are high, he is not one to falter under the pressure. His calm and level headed personality makes him well equipped for the job, along with this, his large stature and muscular form make him a formidable guardian when necessary. He is clan-oriented, not afraid to speak against certain plans, and doesn't mind picking up slack when it comes to his job. His prideful nature ensures him to be the best possible. A childhood of having pressure stacked upon his shoulders has left him shaken, yes, but stronger. He is used to working till his vision is blurry and paw pads tender, and at least for once this will be a task worth struggling for.
"Yeah, I'm sure it does sound crazy, but my point is even if you wanted to bring my mentor back, we can't. He's dead, end of story. The Gods have said nothing, no one has stepped up, and we sit here wasting time and morale. Please... Please let me help, if not for the clan, then for myself."
Potential Plots + Ideas.
- For the Love I Lack. It's no secret that Chase had a childhood filled with loneliness and constant lack of attention, and the issues that stemmed from it have seemed to follow him into his adult years. He finds himself doing stupid things, careless actions simply to invoke a response out of those around him, and this is quickly noticed by the higher-ups. Maybe he gets hurt? Maybe he gets punished? If ridiculed by another, he will likely feel attacked and lash out. It could go anywhere.
- Swallow Your Pride / Just the Two of Us. Chase, being Chase, is a prideful male. He tends to throw his weight around when he thinks he's good at something, and it tends to get him into troubling situations. This particular time he wants to impress his closest lady friend, Honeybee, by taking her to a 'cool' part of the territory outside of camp. What starts out as a fun trip, ends in Chase biting off more than he can handle, and the two get lost. After questioned by Honeybee ( autumn ) as to why it's taking so long, he hides the fact he has no clue where he's going up until the point she calls him out on it. Chase, not liking being cornered and admitting his wrongdoings, points the blame elsewhere. The two end up spending a night in the desert, Honeybee frantically scared and Suncatcher on-guard all night as he stays up thinking about what he's gotten them into. Finally dragging himself to bed, he nuzzles down to his friend and apologizes for getting them lost and like sweet Honeybee, she forgives him only to find out they were less than a mile away from camp.
- Brace for Impact. There aren't many that know of the issues that fall upon the shoulders of the male. One in which is his inability to handle certain situations without having a mental breakdown. His stressful childhood has bestowed him with anxiety and other unfavourable symptoms, and these can come out in the worsts moments. Chase has the full capability to turn into a monster at the drop of a hat, but luckily, for now, he seems to have himself contained. What happens if they find out? What happens if he has an outburst? If he hurts someone? God forbid, kill a cat? Is safe to keep a medic that could potentially cause more harm than good?

Lakebite - Chief Hunter 1 - Chasmclan - @skiv How long your cat has been in this position: 3 Moons Why your character would be good for this position: Lakebite will be good for this position because of her passion for hunting. Having an apathetic personality, she tends to only show her true feelings about one thing which in her case is hunting. I think she would be good because she would be able to put her feelings and the feelings other others to the side and be able to command others to do tasks. Being assertive and direct allows her to make commands easily and though she could be a bit tough at times. But will also allow her to make decisions quickly and effectively in tough situations. Being close to your family is something that Chasmclan believes in but Lakebite isn’t very close with two of her family members which could cause some talking behind the scenes. But Lakebite doesn’t show her true feeling around her close siblings she knows that she cares about her whole family, but it doesn’t bother her if the whole clan sees it. Lakebite would push other hunters to do their best and only the best hunters would she then open up to and give them a bit more of her personality and loyalty. I think she would be an unexpected chief but one that wouldn’t put up with anyone’s crap and would make sure that each hunter is doing their job. I see her having a bit of tough love on the young pupils because she wants to push them to the best.

Because I’ve been convinced I have nothing to lose by this and muse has been running with it all evening…Cricketpaw – Traveler - Duneclan - @/Hati
How long your cat has been in this position: 0 moons. Cricketpaw would have had no prior training as a Traveler or as a Medicine Cat (besides perhaps a few snippets of information picked up in passing). Why your character would be good for this position: At his heart, Cricketpaw is a caring, well-meaning tom. He’s always had a strong interest in medicine/herbs and in helping others, and he absorbs any information related to those areas with ease. His current situation means that he’s very familiar with hard work (and doesn’t shy from it), and although he’s young he’s also pretty aware of some of the harsher realities of life. In addition he’s usually good at keeping his head in difficult situations – although he can be sharp and stress/overtiredness has made his temper short. Rambling thoughts about the boy’s possible storyline/growth as a Traveler:Selection/Early DaysCricketpaw would be downright shocked to be chosen, and there’s a high chance that he’d go into denial in very short order. He learnt at a young age that he’s not worthy of such a role and never will be, so it would take time for him to process and accept his selection. There’s also a good chance that his upbringing will leave him with a lot of self-doubt to work through, since he’s never been able to succeed even as a warrior trainee and the Traveler role is that much more important to get right. None of this will be helped by his relationship with/concerns about the reaction of his mother, or relationships with/attitudes to the rest of the clan. From a clan point of view, Cricketpaw’s appointment would probably be just as shocking. He’s very young for such an important position, has so far been prone to making stupid mistakes when out with warriors, and has kept his interest in healing/plants very quiet: all things that would paint him as an unsuitable choice in many eyes. His white spots, though few, may well add to the doubt in some quarters, and his tendency to lash out at other trainees will probably leave them in particular downright horrified by his appointment. All in all, it’s unlikely that he would get much support – and equally likely that he’d be the cause of a lot of drama. GrowthOnce Cricketpaw’s started to get over the initial shock (and/or realised that this means he’s allowed to dabble in medicine), he’ll probably begin to throw himself into the medicine and plant-finding aspect pretty whole-heartedly. His issues would be a roadblock that he’d need to work through on a longer basis, but the ability to pursue his dream in even a small way would act as a counterbalance to them and probably make it a little easier for him to work through it all. He would probably grow to be happier overall (allowing his better traits to shine through more readily), and would be quick and eager to absorb anything even remotely related to medicine. He would also do reasonably well out in the desert: although he’s prone to sunburn, he’s already used to being out alone and has probably built up a good knowledge of parts of the clan’s territory, so he wouldn’t be as clueless as some might expect a trainee to be. He might, however, need an escort (bodyguard) of sorts to accompany him on trips, because he will always be small and will never really have the muscle needed to defend himself (even if he might try). Ongoing Drama/Long-TermI’m hoping to set up a plot or two with the Cursed (regardless of whether Cricketpaw’s chosen for this), and if that goes ahead then it would probably have long-term repercussions for Cricketpaw’s actions in this position. If things go well then he would likely begin using what he learns to help the Cursed as a whole, and though it would probably start out under the radar there’s the potential for it to be pulled much more into the open further down the line. He may also grow somewhat disenchanted with the gods (depending on how main plots/etc go) or lose faith in them entirely, potentially leading to a breakdown in whatever relationships he might have with the other med cats. If his character develops the way I hope (with support of non-Traveler-related plots) then he’s also likely to flip his ‘white is bad’ mentality to a ‘white=sinner is garbage’ mentality, and to behave accordingly. Ironically this could lead to him making choices that could be construed as sins, although his intentions would be broadly good. If things play out this way then it would probably lead to extra trouble within the clan, and even if they don’t it’s possible that a different sort of drama will arise from a deterioration of his sense of smell: something that would hinder his ability to be a Traveler, and simultaneously be made more likely to occur by him being a Traveler (because increased exposure to the sun, and thus more damage to his nose).

Congratulations to Izumakoto , and Webwhisper for being chosen as Nightwalker Leader of DuneClan. Since the Gods aren’t talking to Applewater or the medicine cats of DuneClan, Webwhisper won’t be revealed as leader in character for a while. That also means he won’t be able to get his leader name: Webwater until DuneClan’s plot progresses… Thank you to everyone else who tried out! There were so many good applications so it was really hard to decide <3

Cashewsun - Willow Family Leader - GLENCLAN - albanyHow long your cat has been in this position: Recently made the high position (less than one moon) Why your character would be good for this position: I always have fun playing high positions, and I think Cashewsun could do well with a bit of extra responsibility. He does embody a few of Willow Family's traits, like flexibility, and his outgoing nature would make him approachable to cats of every family. I know he's young, and therefore unlikely to get the position compared to others, so I'm all good if an older cat gets it over him. Cashewsun would likely be a little on-edge about outsiders' traditions, as he is a strong believer in Glenclan's Goddess, but he would try to accept them as best he could. He is quick to try to make friends, so coming to solutions with other cats would be primary priority for him, as well as helping them learn about Glenclan beliefs. Single cats would be much easier for Cashewsun to deal with than groups, as he feels he is better at making one on one connections. Additionally, other clans might scare Cashewsun a little, depending on how they approached Glenclan or how Glenclan discovered them. Cashewsun would try to lead Willow family as an equal to the other families, and would believe communication with the other family leaders as important, especially as he may be among the more inexperienced of the family leaders. His own family's needs would come before, but he would try to compromise as best as possible. Cashewsun would try to open voting to the whole clan as much as possible as opposed to just the five, since he values the opinions of most cats. As for the medicine cat, Cashewsun respects their healing power and the unbiased decisions, and would try to consult the medicine cat as well. He would try to befriend the medicine cat apprentices but likely wouldn't come to them first unless they had been training for a while. He would want to make sure he chose the best one when it came time to choose a new medicine cat. Cashewsun agrees with the current way of dealing with the herb shortage of educating cats to find the herbs and then sending out patrols. He does have some concerns and may try to organize his own patrols in addition to the patrols of the leader and medicine cat. He also believes that praying to the Goddess will help their situation, and perhaps increasing prayers might make things better. He believes the Goddess planned for the struggle, and is doing it to make them tougher. Cashewsun loves kits and apprentices, and thinks they are a lot of fun, but has never had either. It's a goal in his future, as he plans to be one of the best warriors he can be. He has a good deal of respect for queens and knights, as he considers raising kits to be a difficult task, especially when they aren't one's birth kits. Elders he sees as wise, generally, though he understands the need for some of them to have their vote removed as they get older. Cashewsun receiving the position over another cat could lead to drama due to his age and inexperience, but he's flexible and able to be quick on learning. Making mistakes could be an interesting plot for him, as well as him balancing wanting to be friends with everybody with having to make tougher decisions, and his own personal life. Cashewsun could learn to stand up for himself better, and become more confident.

TARANTULAHOP - PROPHET - DUNECLAN - JinnHow long your cat has been in this position: At least six to ten moons. Why your character would be good for this position: Nestling down into the sand, Tarantulahop stifled the urge to huff into his paws as he curled into himself. He curled into himself even tighter, exhausted after screaming out his frustrations in the middle of the desert and crying into the sand. His eyes felt gritty from his sobs, just like the sand that he was sleeping on. The chill of the night was descending on him, stars blinking down at him comfortingly as he stared up at the dark night. He stared upwards for a few more minutes, taking in the velvety blackness and trying to ignore the rustling that meant that the Nightwalkers were getting to their feet, getting ready for their hunts and patrols. He blinked slowly, the tiredness weighing his eyes and limbs down as he succumbed to sleep. It was barely a few moments before he was standing in an empty desert, palm trees reaching high into the sky and the low pool of water once more full and glistening with the absence of the strange chemicals. It even smelled fresh, as he knelt by it. Tarantulahop, came a whispering voice, trailing around his ears in a faint breeze and catching his utmost attention. We've got some questions for you, our daylight walker. Our? Tarantulahop blinked curiously around him, not seeing anything but still hearing the voice as it wrapped around him like a writhing, cool river. What do you think of the outsiders outside your walls? The white ones who bring chaos? Now, Tarantulahop wasn't a spiritualist for nothing, his belief in the gods strong and unwavering. However, he found it hard to believe that somebody would ask him these kind of questions, engaging him in conversation? So, he decided to indulge them with some curiosity that thirsted at his tongue. "I.. outsiders? Like the ones that leave our clan of their own voliton? The ones that we kick out, and our Cursed? I.. I don't like the Cursed. They make me uncomfortable, not to mention it's really gotta hurt during the day when they're around. They could easily get sick, or sunburnt. I wouldn't want my own kits to have any white. The ones who leave us, or kicked out, I think we should leave them alone. Maybe insist they go out farther from our camp so that they don't harass us or try to take our young. Of course, I wouldn't accept them back into the clan once they leave. We've all got a choice and it's theirs to leave us." he murmured uncomfortably, shifting his paws and turning his head occasionally to see where the voices were coming from. For a moment, he thought he could see a faint outline of a cat on the gentle curve of the tree, but the next blink and it was gone. What about other groups, hmm? Other.. other groups? Alarm swelled in him. "Other groups? Are we in danger of being attacked?" he queried incredulously, fur bristling on his spine in alarm and wild protectiveness that swelled and arced through him. "Is my brother going to be okay?" Peace, little day runner. The voice soothed, settling his mind gently. "I- I would probably ask where they come from, if they intend us harm. Arm the borders and increase patrols. Make sure that they don't come anywhere close to the camp." There was silence for a moment, but it was long enough that Tarantulahop feared they left. How do you interact with the other leaders of your group? Tarantulahop swallowed at the question. "Uh.. I treat them with the respect their rank deserves? Sometimes they look at me weird because the rest of my family are Nightwalkers, but we're generally on neutral terms." Good... good.. now, what would you do to make your current situations better in your Clan?Tarantulahop got quiet, still feeling his depression weigh on him heavily. "I would send out cats day and night to look for water, look for signs that anything approaching us and prepare the Clan as best I can, I guess?" he mumbled, staring down at the sand contemplatively. How do you think the other leaders will act? What do you think of them? "Well, Applewater is readying the Clan to move towards the Sunlight Camp for the approaching winter. We don't have a Nightwalker leader at the moment, he disappeared last moon. Applewater is doing the best she can, so I respect her for her decisions. She's.. very traditional. However, I commend her for her decision to keep the Clan traditional despite my dislike of keeping the Nightwalkers and Daywalkers separate. I miss my brother, but the Clan's traditions and norms should be kept under control." he said, licking his maw and settling into a lying position. His eyes glazed over as he thought about his answer, whiskers twitching as he stared at the sand some more. "Honeybee is also doing her best, but the herb stock is dwindling and I'm afraid that all the herbs everywhere are going to dry up soon because of how hot and dry it's been recently. I think we should increase patrols for looking for water and herbs, with Honeybee helping them. It'd also be nice if we could keep an eye on the weather and look for signs that rain is approaching."If we pick you to be our messenger between this plane and the living world, would you, mortal, be interested in that position? What would you do with this position? How would you react, what can you bring us? Tarantulahop was utterly taken aback at these next words. Was.. was he really talking to the gods? His mouth went dry, dropping a little and closing in rapid succession. His ears flattened slightly, dark amber eyes wide as the inaudible whispering grew louder and more intense, but still quiet and hard to make out. "I..." he licked at his mouth again, the fur on his spine bristling slightly as a chill ran down it. "I.. I would be honored to accept this position, of course. I would use it to infer information brought to me, pick apart the information and interpret it as best I can." He didn't mention he would probably exaggerate these omens and signs, and would highkey be bouncing off the walls if water returned. "You already know I pray to you nightly. I could report then, of course." For awhile there was silence, as the voices grew even quiet as they mulled over his words. He shifted uneasily as the wind picked up, his eyes suddenly going drowsy as sleep started to come over him. We have heard you, little tarantula hopper. Sleep. Before he could stop them, his mindscape blurred as he fell further into the dreamscape. When he woke up for the Daywalker patrols to start, he would remember nothing of the dream.

Mahoganyfrost - Pine Family Leader - Glenclan - lyca How long your cat has been in this position: Very new to the position Why your character would be good for this position: Mahoganyfrost has never had a family of his own, but thinks of the whole of the clan as his kin and often considers the Pine Family as brothers and sisters (though it may be part of the reason he has yet to take a mate in his respective “family”). He is very protective towards anyone he deems a friend or kin, to the point where he would be willing to sacrifice himself. He would take the duty of being leader of the Pine Family more seriously than anything else. Yet while he is gentle in his actions towards his friends he does come off as aloof and highly cautious of strangers from other clans. He isn’t quick to draw his claws but he will always be quick to defend his clanmates in any way he can. There are also insecurities and faults in the tom that could rear their ugly heads should Mahoganyfrost become a Family Leader: the fact that he often has a bad habit of hiding whenever he is hurting or in distress, his fear of becoming useless (he would definitely blame or criticize himself endlessly should any of his clanmates come to harm under his watch), and even the tom’s climbing anxiety from the trauma caused by his accident. Not to mention the fact that the negative aspects of his personality may cause others to keep their distance or possibly scare others off. RP SAMPLE:Mahoganyfrost lay curled in his nest, deep green eyes glittering with pain. It hurt to move. It felt as though the weather itself was conspiring against him. It had yet to start growing warm and his old wound was not happy with that fact. His shoulder ached its worst during leaf-bare. As much as his body wanted him to rest, the brown tom lifted himself from his nest. His left shoulder protested against the movement, screaming at him to stop. He did not. He had work to do today. He was suddenly glad that he had awoken so early, none of his denmates were conscious yet. The warrior sighed quietly before padding towards the den entrance, a slight limp to his step. As soon as he reached it, all traces of pain were gone from his posture, his expression, his eyes. He lifted his head and stepped paw outside, greeting those who were up early enough to say hello. He never let on that the chilly weather was aggravating his old wound or that walking seemed to hurt more than ever today. His rational mind told him to go to the medicine den, get something to relieve the pain, but another part of him was fearful. Fearful that he would waste more moons in the medicine den being useless to his clan, that he would retire early. He had to avoid that… at all costs for as long as he could.

Gorsehoney - Chief Tunneler - ChasmClan - captainHow long your cat has been in this position: 5-10 moons, If Gorsehoney was Chief Tunneler I would imagine he would have taken up the position rather young Why your character would be good for this position: If Gorsehoney was Chief Tunneler either his Tunneler father or mother would have held the position before him. Gorsehoney heavily focuses on the gem-finding side of a Tunneler and he has a very keen eye for gemstones and a knack for gem care. If chosen as Tunneler, Gorsehoney would push most of the excavation and safety duties to his co-Chief leading to tension and drama between the two. He’s unlikely to take anything seriously unless it directly relates to gems or the cats he’s close to. So if ChasmClan ever faces a disaster, Gorsehoney won’t help much. Despite that, he’ll be able to show future tunnelers the finer aspects of gems and how to properly take care of them. With a silver tongue and way with words, Gorsehoney has many toms and she-cats pining after him. He does have a mate, but he has a nasty habit of cheating any playing around. Currently he has a plot with Spottedgem and his mate Dawnstone that has lots of drama on the horizon. I plan to lead Gorsehoney down an interesting character arc. He’ll cheat on his mate Dawnstone and basically ruin his life by having kits out of his relationship. Since ChasmClan cats heavily focus on family, it’s very taboo to cheat. As Chief Tunneler, Gorsehoney’s affair may cause him to lose his position or be ostracised by his peers. After hitting rock bottom, Gorsehoney will find himself through religion and become obsessed with the idea of gems and ancestors. He’ll become so devoted to religion and meditation that it starts to become unhealthy. From there, we’ll have to see.

Marigoldfeather - Pine Family Leader - GlenClan - slothHow long your cat has been in this position: Would be new to the position, perhaps maybe hold it for a moon but her recent history would make the most sense if she is fresh to the role. Why your character would be good for this position: ’ So how do you feel about outsiders and what role do you think they should play in our clan’s life?’ “Well obviously outsiders are an interesting topic to say the least. After all what did we build this thorn tunnel for if not to keep out unwelcome visitors? I guess if you really wanted to know my take on it, we should seriously consider how often we actually see cats from beyond our borders. They must live such interesting lives while they are out traveling. Lives that are full of hardships; why not let them tell us what the outside world is like over a fresh caught mouse? If we are ever going to expand territory or do any exploring of our own it wouldn’t hurt to find out what’s out there first from someone who’s seen it.” ’How would you feel about the other clans if you ever came in contact with them?’ “Other clans?! What other clans?? Do they live like us? Look like us? What do they smell like I wonder..” ’How would you interact with your fellow clan mates that hold high positions?’ “You asking me how I interact with others really depends on how they act towards me of course. I’m always willing to extend the olive branch and give someone the benefit of the doubt. Individuals are far more malleable when you’re sweet to them and unless you intend on using sheer force you’re never going to get everyone to agree! Even then it’s a bush fire waiting to happen haha! I am fully capable of providing clever and well made decisions for the good of my Family members who so willingly welcomed me back into the place I originally came from. If my fellow high position members are willing to look over my unfortunate past mistakes then I think we should get along just fine.” ’Can you speak more on how your, uh; checkered past would affect your role as Pine Family Leader?’ “Look, I understand your concerns on how things would play out with me being an important voice for the future of the clan but my whole family legacy is based off the core values of kindness and wisdom; two things that don’t just manifest in an individual. They are learned through hard experiences and the ability to come out on the other side a better being. Yes Oak probably doesn’t think I’m loyal and Birch thinks I’m dishonest but by me being placed in this position it shows my Family believes I’ve grown and I’m ready to accept these challenges that lie before me and if the wisest of our clan feel that way; could they really be wrong?” ’So if you’re the voice to the wisest of your clan how would you then deal with the current issues facing the clan? What’s your plan for all the vegetation that’s been burnt away these past few seasons?’ “I love this question! I feel Myrtleleaf has done a fabulous job getting everyone to cut down on the herbs we’ve been using and train some of the clan members to be on the look out for basic necessities. I believe exploring outside our lands would improve our odds of finding resources we need for the upcoming leaf-bare once we know what we’re looking for, it wouldn’t hurt to get some more hunting territory while we wait for our forest to return to its former glory.” ’What do you feel the role as a Family Leader should entail?’ “If I’ve learned anything it’s that open communication is key to making the best decisions for the most clan members. So while I think many small decisions can be decided on by those out in charge, you’re only going to get confused and angry warriors if their left out of the big decision making.”
